The school offers a continuum of education including Preschool (36-72 months), Primary School (grades 1-4), Middle School (grades 5-8), and High School (grades 9-12), which includes both Anatolian High School and Science High School pathways. AREL is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP). Additionally, the school provides the Advanced Placement (AP) program and maintains a curriculum where Turkish is the primary language of instruction and English serves as the second language.

The school utilizes a Quality Management System (TS-EN-ISO 9001:2000) to ensure that all educational practices and activities are planned, recorded, and continuously improved. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards, LED touch screens, and wireless internet access to support diverse learning needs. AREL Schools accepts applications for students of all genders, religions, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds throughout the school year, though early application before June is recommended. The admissions process requires a certificate of equivalence from the Ministry of Turkish Education or the Istanbul Directorate of National Education, along with placement tests in Turkish, English, Mathematics, and Science. Prospective families are encouraged to visit the campus for an informal talk and tour, and principals conduct meetings with both parents and students prior to enrollment.

The academic year is divided into two terms, typically running from early September to late June. The calendar includes scheduled breaks, such as a mid-term break in November and April, and observes national holidays including Republic Day, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, and Youth and Sports Day. The first term concludes in mid-January, with the second term commencing in early February.

The school operates on a 55,000-square-meter campus, featuring a 25,000-square-meter main building and a 17,000-square-meter open area with basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts. Specialized facilities include science, chemistry, physics, and biology laboratories, as well as technology, robotics, and 3D labs. The campus also houses libraries, research rooms, visual arts and ceramics studios, and a mini theater hall. The AREL Sports and Cultural Complex provides an indoor semi-olympic swimming pool, a multi-purpose sports hall with a 600-person capacity, a fitness hall, and a conference and theater hall seating 1,200 people.
