Programmes

The high school pathway includes the LCA Grade 12 Diploma option.

Outcomes

Learners have the option to graduate in Grade 12 with an internationally recognized Lighthouse Christian Academy (LCA) Diploma, which is accredited by SAQA. This pathway prepares students for tertiary studies while maintaining a Bible-centered education. Additionally, high-achieving athletes and students can earn SACSSA National Colours or qualify for the International Student Convention (ISC) in the United States.

Admissions

Co-curriculars

The school offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, including chess for all grades and participation in Eisteddfods and Olympiads (such as Computer and Academia Olympiads). Sports include swimming, athletics, table tennis, netball, soccer, cross country, and volleyball, with opportunities for inter-school competition through the Southern African Christian Schools’ Sport Association (SACSSA). High school learners also participate in the annual All Africa Student Convention (AASC), which features over 150 categories including arts, music, drama, and Bible knowledge.

A qualified Maths and Science teacher, she previously headed the High School Learning Centre and served as HOD for the Intermediate and High school phases. She focuses on driving academic and procedural excellence and spiritual discipleship.

    Mrs. Cillie’ has been involved in education for 24 years and became Director of Education at Shanan in 2018. She was instrumental in facilitating the leadership transition and currently focuses on strategic development, casting the school's vision, and streamlining administrative and governance processes.
