Bgi Akademiet

BGI akademiet is based on the Grundtvig/Kold educational philosophy, which emphasizes the development of the whole person, life courage, and life skills. The school aims to foster independent thinking, democratic engagement, and social responsibility. It balances academic education with a strong focus on gymnastics, sports, and creative expression.

The academic programme follows the Danish Folkeskole curriculum, leading to FP9 or FP10 examinations, with core subjects including Danish, English, and Mathematics. Students choose from various sports lines (e.g., football, handball, gymnastics, parkour, cycling) and combination lines (e.g., Ski, Snowboard, Krea & Design, Lifeskills). The school also offers an International Line (IGCSE) and participates in the European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) programme.

The school prepares students for further education, such as STX, HHX, HTX, HF, and EUD. Students complete the Danish Folkeskole's 9th or 10th-grade examinations (FP9/FP10). The school tracks transition rates to youth education programs and publishes its grade distributions and averages.

The school employs three educational counselors who provide guidance within house groups and offer individual support to students, including those identified as not yet ready for further education. Support is integrated into the daily routine through house meetings, educational planning sessions, and career guidance activities. Additionally, the school offers physiotherapy and injury treatment services.

Prospective students can apply for upcoming school years via the school's website. The process includes an enrollment fee of 2,000 DKK, payable within 14 days of receiving an offer, and a 6,000 DKK deposit due in the spring before the school year begins. The school year consists of 42 weeks. The calendar includes regular school days, weekends with various activities, and two international trips. The school offers numerous sports-focused camps and courses, and students are encouraged to utilize the campus facilities during their free time.
