Teaching approach

Caulfield Junior College is committed to providing diverse learning opportunities in a multicultural context that challenges students to recognize their individual potential. The school emphasizes the importance of multiculturalism in a fast-evolving world, aiming to prepare students as thinkers and leaders who are equipped with tools that exceed the limits of a traditional curriculum. The school's motto is 'Leading the Way.'

Programmes

The school offers two primary academic streams: the Victorian Curriculum and the French Binational Program (FBP). The FBP is a bilingual curriculum that meets the standards of both the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the French Ministry of National Education, with teachers working in binome (pairs) from Prep to Grade 6. Specialist subjects include Digital Technologies, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Visual Arts, and STEM. Additionally, a Hebrew language program is available to all students.

Outcomes

Students are assessed through the Australian National testing system (NAPLAN) in grades 3 and 5. Students in the French Binational Program are also evaluated using French National assessment papers from grade 1 through 6. The school aims to prepare students academically and socially for their secondary education and beyond.
