The International School of Turin is a non-profit, IB full-continuum world school serving students from early childhood through Grade 12. It is the oldest international school in the Piedmont region, established in 1963.

Programmes

The school offers a complete academic programme taught in English, comprising the IB Primary Years Programme (ages 3-11), the IB Middle Years Programme (ages 11-15), and the IB Diploma Programme (ages 16-18). The primary school curriculum (Grades 1-5) is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education as equivalent to an Italian school. Students may also pursue external language certifications in English (Cambridge), French (DELF), German (Goethe), Italian (PLIDA), and Spanish (DELE).

Outcomes

The school is an IB full-continuum school, and its IB Diploma is legally equivalent to the Italian Maturità. Grade 8 students participate in the Terza Media exams, which have achieved a 100% pass rate. The school also serves as an official SAT exam administration center.

Admissions

The school is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational day school. Priority for admissions is given to international, English-speaking candidates, followed by international candidates who do not speak English, and siblings of currently enrolled students. Applicants to grades 6-12 must complete placement examinations in English and mathematics.

Calendar

The school year runs from September to June and consists of 176 instructional days. The calendar includes a mid-term break in October, a winter break from late December to early January, a mid-term break in February, and a spring break in April.

About the campus

Located in the hills of Turin, the campus features a mix of historic and new buildings containing 40 wireless classrooms equipped with Apple TVs and digital screens. Facilities include a CoLab library, three science labs, a multi-purpose assembly hall, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, an early childhood playground, an outdoor football pitch, and a basketball court.

Co-curriculars

The school offers a variety of co-curricular initiatives, including 24 after-school activities, student council, and field trips. Students may participate in sports, such as the U18 football team, as well as arts and music programs. Additionally, the school hosts a summer camp for ages 3–14 and facilitates international exchanges.
