Christ Church Episcopal School

The school is an Episcopal institution that welcomes students of all faiths, centering its identity on the Baptismal Covenant to strive for justice and peace and respect the dignity of every human being. Its mission is to prepare students to think deeply, act responsibly, live vigorously, believe faithfully, lead resolutely, and create imaginatively. The core values guiding the community are Character, Community, Excellence, and Service.

The academic program includes a challenging college preparatory curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The school offers instruction in five world languages: Chinese, German, French, Latin, and Spanish. Technology is integrated across all divisions, with students in grades 5–12 issued touchscreen Chromebooks and utilizing the Schoology learning management system.

CCES reports a 100% college acceptance rate for its graduates. Students consistently achieve SAT scores that outpace national averages by several hundred points, and International Baccalaureate (IB) scores that exceed world averages. Graduates go on to attend a variety of higher education institutions across the country.

The Achievement Center and the school’s student support and wellness team provide resources to meet individual learning needs. Counselors and chaplains work in partnership with teachers and parents to nurture students' intellectual development, personal integrity, and sense of self-worth. Additionally, the school offers a German program for native speakers.

Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities. The application process begins with an inquiry form, which also allows families to register for a group tour. The school requires a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $150 for Primer through Grade 12, and a one-time matriculation fee of $2,000 for Primer–Grade 4 or $2,500 for Grades 5–12 to reserve a student's place.

The school operates on a traditional academic calendar. Tuition payment plans are available on an annual, nine-month, or eleven-month basis, with the annual plan due by June 1. Current parents may access the full calendar of events for the school year through the online parent portal (OCC).

The school is located on a 94-acre campus in Greenville, South Carolina, divided into three divisions: the Lower School (Primer–Grade 4), Middle School (Grades 5–8), and Upper School (Grades 9–12). Campus facilities include three libraries, an on-site wetland laboratory, and the Hartness Performing Arts Center, which houses the Rooke Theater. Academic classrooms are equipped with modern technology, including wireless microphone systems and flat-panel displays or projection systems.

Students participate in a wide range of activities including athletics, the arts, and leadership programs. The school fields 43 athletic teams and has earned 118 state championships, with approximately 80% of students in grades 7–12 participating in at least one sport. Other opportunities include student-run news teams like CCTV, journalism electives, the Femme Club, and various community service initiatives such as the PEER mentoring program and Crafts for a Cause.
