Corbett Preparatory School of IDS

The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) for PreK3-5th grade and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for 6th-8th grade. The curriculum includes core subjects alongside "Specials" such as art, music, drama, dance, Spanish, physical education, and the Tomlin Family Application Lab for STEAM. Middle School students rotate through a Fine Arts Wheel and engage in year-round design, Spanish, and physical education.

The school has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School and has been voted "Best Private School" in the Tampa Bay Times "Best of the Best" reader polls for multiple consecutive years. The Student Success Department collaborates with teachers to ensure students are challenged at appropriate levels. This department provides extra support for those who need it and offers enrichment opportunities for students to extend their learning. Many faculty members are endorsed in Gifted Education through a partnership with the University of South Florida.

The school accepts applications for students from PreK3 through 8th grade. Prospective families are invited to schedule a personal campus tour, and the application process is facilitated through the school's admissions portal. A non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required upon acceptance, and new families are subject to a one-time $1,000 capital assessment fee.

The school operates on a traditional academic calendar, with teacher pre-planning typically beginning in early August. The campus also hosts CAMP IDS, a summer program for students entering PreK3 through 8th grade, which runs through July. Athletics schedules and other school events are managed through an online calendar system.

The campus is situated in the Carrollwood neighborhood of North Tampa, divided by Orange Grove Drive. The east side houses the elementary school (PreK3-5th grade), while the west side features the Middle School, which includes its own classroom building, gymnasium, and cafeteria. The campus also features the Tomlin Family Application Lab, a dedicated space for STEAM-inspired learning and critical thinking.

Students have access to a variety of after-school enrichment activities and community programs. The school offers the Community School of the Arts and the Community School for Sports, providing additional opportunities for creative and athletic development. Outdoor education and social-emotional learning are also integrated into the student experience.
