Cunae International School operates as an independent private micro-school that emphasizes visible learning, inquiry, and experiential engagement. Its philosophy is rooted in the principles of Reggio Emilia and the International Baccalaureate, aiming to develop both academic acuity and social-emotional competencies. The school offers a comprehensive academic pathway including an Early Learning Center (PreK4-Kindergarten), the IB Primary Years Programme (Grades 1-6), the IHP (Grades 7-10), and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12). The Early Learning Center utilizes a tri-lingual immersion model (English, Spanish, and French) to foster mental flexibility and analytical skills. The curriculum is designed to be dynamic and developmentally appropriate, with a focus on global context, entrepreneurship, and eco-culture.

The school employs an occupational therapist and prioritizes an adaptive educational approach that supports individual student needs. The admissions process is a three-part procedure requiring the submission of an application form, parent survey, recent school reports, and test results, along with a non-refundable $125 registration fee. Prospective families are encouraged to tour the campus and meet with a director, though Zoom meetings are available for those unable to visit in person. Following an assessment, accepted students must submit a second application form and two months of advanced tuition to secure their place. The school maintains a policy requiring students to be up to date with mandatory state vaccination guidelines.

The school operates Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admissions review cycles occur with deadlines on February 1 for the first round and April 1 for the second round, with rolling admissions thereafter if space permits.

Set on six tranquil acres in The Woodlands, the campus features modern, tactile, and environmentally responsible architecture designed to harmonize with nature. Learning spaces are intentionally designed without conventional rows of desks to facilitate movement, independence, and collaboration. The grounds include a monarch butterfly waystation and wildlife areas, and the school is currently expanding its facilities, with a dedicated building for 7th–12th grade students scheduled for completion in 2024.
