Doral International Academy of Math and Science

The school utilizes a personalized approach to education that aims to help students discover their potential in an environment that celebrates individual strengths. Instruction is centered on cooperative learning, where students work together in structured, purposeful ways to share ideas, build leadership and communication skills, and support one another. The school emphasizes student-centered inquiry and project-based learning to foster critical thinking and engagement.

The academic program aligns with Florida’s standards and includes core subjects such as Language Arts, Math, Intensive Reading, Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, and Electives. The school offers the Cambridge Program, an internationally recognized curriculum for grades K-12 that provides a rigorous academic perspective through a mix of traditional instruction and project-based learning. Additionally, the school integrates technology and business studies, including an Academy of Business, and utilizes project-based learning as a core instructional methodology across grade levels.

The school employs a regional mental health counselor to support student well-being. Additionally, the enrollment process accounts for students with existing IEP or 504 plans, which must be submitted during registration.

Doral International Academy of Math and Science is a tuition-free public charter school. The enrollment process involves an annual open enrollment period, followed by a lottery if the number of applicants exceeds available vacancies. Preference is granted to siblings, children of employees or governing board members, children of active-duty military families, and students from specific schools as defined by state law. Once offered a seat, families must complete a registration process within seven days, providing documentation such as a birth certificate, immunization records, a Florida entry health exam, and proof of residency.

The school operates on a standard academic calendar, with specific daily hours varying by grade level: Kindergarten through 1st grade attend from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2nd through 4th grade from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 5th through 8th grade from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Before and aftercare services are available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The school remains closed during designated summer hours.

The campus is located at 6700 NW 104 Avenue in Doral, Florida. It features a dedicated "Makerspace," a facility designed for constructivist and constructionist learning that provides students with modern technology and materials for inquiry-based projects and invention.

The school offers a variety of clubs and athletic programs to engage students outside of the classroom. Athletic offerings include cheerleading, track and field, volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, and cross-country. Additionally, the school provides a before and after-school program known as Edventure.
