Founded in 1993, the school is built on the belief that diverse cultures enrich the learning environment and that high-quality teaching leads to strong results. It promotes a relational approach to education, focusing on helping each student reach their full potential both academically and as an individual. The school provides a bilingual education where approximately half of the instruction is conducted in English. An after-school programme (fritids) is available for students in grades F-5, and the school integrates digital tools, such as individual Chromebooks, into the curriculum for older students.

For the 2024/2025 academic year, the average merit value for students leaving grade 9 was 281. Students in grade 9 are also offered the opportunity to prepare for and take Cambridge examinations in English and mathematics.

The school maintains an elevhälsoteam (student health team) that includes a school counselor, a study and career counselor, and a special educator. The school emphasizes a relational approach, small class sizes, and a zero-tolerance policy against bullying to support student well-being. Applications are managed through a combination of the school's own queue system via Admentum and the Stockholm City school choice portal. Admissions criteria prioritize siblings of currently enrolled students, children previously enrolled in the school's affiliated preschools, and finally, time in the queue. Prospective families are advised to register in the queue and complete the municipal school choice process during the designated application window.

The academic year typically runs from mid-August to early June. The calendar includes standard breaks such as autumn break (week 44), Christmas holidays, sports break (week 9), and Easter break (week 15). The school also observes various public holidays and schedules periodic planning and study days when the school and after-school care are closed.

The school operates across two locations in the Östermalm district of Stockholm. Grades F-5 are housed in an original 1965 building at Roslagstullsbacken, while grades 6-9 are located in two K-listed buildings within the Alba Nova Science Center area. The campus features a library with a collection of over 9,000 books, digital learning tools including Chromebooks for students in grades 6-9, and access to surrounding park environments like the Nationalstadspark.

Students have access to a variety of activities, including choir and a school band. The school also emphasizes chess and environmental awareness through its 'School for Sustainable Development' initiative. Additionally, students in grades 6-9 have opportunities to participate in science, mathematics, and technology activities at the university level through a partnership with Vetenskapens Hus.
