Students are prepared for national high school diplomas, such as the German Abitur, and have the opportunity to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. These qualifications provide a globally recognised university entrance pathway. The school supports students who are not native speakers of German or English through immersion, supplemented by intensive language courses offered outside of class or during class time depending on the level. SIS accepts applications year-round for all locations, with most families enrolling between February and April for an August or September start. The process includes a non-binding registration, an interview with school management, and optional trial days for the student. While no entrance exam is required, secondary school transfers require proof of aptitude, and the Berlin upper secondary school requires an intermediate school leaving certificate.

The school hosts various events throughout the year, including information evenings for kindergarten, primary, and secondary levels, as well as open house days and summer festivals. Specific upcoming dates for the 2026/2027 academic year include information sessions in October and November 2026, and open door days in January 2027. A detailed calendar of events is maintained for each individual school location.
