Generation Education Hermanus

Updated July 2026

Generation Schools is an educational group that integrates Montessori, Cambridge, and alternative academic models to provide a comprehensive, student-focused learning experience. It serves students from preschool through to high school and beyond, focusing on developing independent thinkers.

Teaching approach

Generation Schools prioritises the exploration of understanding over the testing of memory, aiming to inspire curiosity and foster independent, critical thinking. The educational approach is guided by core values of Purposeful Commitment, Do What You Say, Student Focused by Design, and Pioneering. The school seeks to create an environment where students can discover their unique talents and passions, ensuring they are prepared to excel in an ever-changing world.

Programmes

The school offers three primary academic pathways: the Montessori method, which emphasises independent learning and self-discipline; the Cambridge International Curriculum, which covers primary through secondary schooling and includes IGCSE, AS, and A Levels; and the Sí pathway. The Sí pathway provides International Access Qualifications (IAQs) accredited by ATHE, which translate into the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and offer an alternative route for high school students. Additionally, the school provides a Junior to Giant programme for individuals aged 16 to 23.

Outcomes

The school's academic pathways are designed to prepare students for higher education and professional success globally. Through the Cambridge curriculum, students gain international matriculation, while the Sí pathway offers International Access Qualifications that allow students to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application, including opportunities to complete final degree years at UK-based universities.
