Green Hills Elementary School/Junior High School

Iizuna Gakuen operates under a unified educational philosophy that emphasizes natural learning environments and international standards. The institution is committed to providing educational experiences that foster growth through its various divisions, including kindergarten and primary/secondary schooling.

The institution offers a tiered educational structure starting with the Tsubomi Room, followed by Kodomonomori Kindergarten, and extending through Green Hills Elementary and Junior High School. Green Hills Elementary School delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). The Tsubomi Room provides structured activities for young children, requiring specific seasonal gear such as outdoor clothing and snow equipment for winter sessions.

Green Hills Elementary School achieved authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) World School in January 2024.

Prospective families are invited to participate in a free trial session before enrollment. The application process requires the submission of an enrollment form, a personal registration card, and an automatic payment authorization form for Japan Post Bank. For the 'Tsubomi Room' program, families may register for one day per week, with monthly fees and a one-time registration fee applicable.

The 'Tsubomi Room' program operates on a year-round basis, with activities scheduled for three sessions per month. Families have the flexibility to reschedule missed sessions to other weeks. Additionally, the school hosts 'Tsubomi DAY' events twice a year, which are designed for family participation on weekends.

The campus is situated in a natural environment and includes a school garden and current school buildings. Access to the school is available via car, approximately 30 minutes from Nagano Station, or by the Alpico Bus Togakushi Line, followed by a 10-minute walk from the 'Iizuna-kita' bus stop.
