The school offers a comprehensive curriculum from the Early Learning Centre (ages 3-5) through to Senior School (Years 10-12). The Primary School utilizes an Explicit Instruction model for literacy and numeracy, while the Senior School offers the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Specialized programs include 'Ochre' classes for remote Indigenous students in Years 7-9, and a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, such as Certificate II in Sport and Recreation, Workplace Skills, Tourism, and Music.

Haileybury Rendall School has been recognized as the Australian Regional School of the Year (2023, 2024) and Boarding School of the Year (2022). Students consistently achieve strong academic results, including high ATAR scores and top NAPLAN results in the Northern Territory. The school maintains high Year 12 graduation and retention rates, with graduates moving on to university or contributing to their communities.

The school employs a student-centred approach to learning, with a dedicated Student Wellbeing Centre that provides support inside and outside the classroom. A registered nurse is on duty in the Health Centre, which is located within the Wellbeing Centre. The school also provides specific support for Indigenous students through the Stars Foundation Centre for female students and the Clontarf Academy for male students.

Haileybury Rendall School offers day, boarding, and online learning pathways for students. The admissions process includes an enrolment fee of $580, comprising a $280 non-refundable entrance fee and a $300 life membership fee for the Old Haileyburians Association. Sibling discounts are available for families with multiple children enrolled simultaneously, ranging from 5% for the second child to 20% for the fourth or subsequent children.

The school operates on a four-term academic year. Term dates for 2026 include Term 2 (21 April – 19 June), Term 3 (14 July – 18 September), and Term 4 (5 October – 10 December). The 2027 academic year commences with orientation for new students on 27 January, followed by the start of Term 1 classes on 28 January.

The campus features a range of modern facilities, including an Early Learning Centre, Junior School classrooms, six science laboratories, and a Library and Careers Centre. Sporting facilities include three ovals, basketball and netball courts, a gymnasium, and a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool. Performing arts spaces include an auditorium, the Dumabudla Centre (seating 600), and dedicated dance and drama studios. Boarding students are housed in three residences—Gumimba, Dewarra, and Madjirra Houses—which provide individual or shared rooms, study areas, and common spaces. The Mayuma Room serves as the school's cafeteria.

The school provides a diverse extra-curricular program including performing and visual arts, such as plays, musicals, band performances, and art exhibitions. Students can participate in social justice initiatives, fundraising, and volunteering. Other activities include a lunchtime Games Club, Sustainability Club, choir, and various House-based competitions. The school also offers an outdoor education program involving activities like sailing, kayaking, and camping.
