Dr Michael Gray became Headmaster in 2021. He has a background in History, Politics, and Philosophy, and has published widely on Holocaust and genocide education. Before joining HCS, he held senior leadership roles at Harrow School, including Academic & Universities Director and Director of Studies.
- Mr Crispin DawsonPrincipal
Crispin Dawson joined Hereford Cathedral School in 2025 as Principal, with responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of both the Junior and Senior Schools. He previously served as Senior Deputy Head at Cheltenham College and Principal of Padworth College. He holds a degree in Theology and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
- Mr Patrick JerramChief Operating Officer
Patrick Jerram joined the school in 2018 as Assistant Head (Extra-curricular) before becoming Deputy Head (Staff) and subsequently Chief Operating Officer. He has a background in Sport Science and previously worked with the Rugby Football Union and Saracens. He holds a Level 7 Senior Leader qualification and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Bruce Blyth is a Geography graduate who joined HCS in 2010. He previously taught at Bristol Grammar School and Hampton School. He is the pastoral and safeguarding lead at HCS, overseeing student wellbeing from Years 7 to 13.

Nathalie Teale has a degree in Modern European Studies and previously worked for ITV. She is a qualified teacher of Modern Foreign Languages and formerly served as Head of Modern Foreign Languages at HCS. Since September 2024, she has served as Deputy Head (Excellence & Innovation) with responsibility for the Sixth Form.

Alex Hartley joined Hereford Cathedral School in 2020. He studied Mathematics at the University of Oxford and has experience working in international, boarding, and comprehensive schools. He holds a postgraduate degree in educational leadership and is an ISI inspector.

Sophie Owens is an experienced primary educator with a background in Law, which informs her work in safeguarding, pastoral care, and school development.
