Horizon Sendai views education as a lifelong commitment and strives to create a community of learners who value inquiry and reflection. The school implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) across its ELC and Primary School levels. The ELC curriculum is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on play-based inquiry. The Primary School curriculum is a bilingual programme where approximately 50–60% of the Japanese national curriculum is taught in English, integrating inquiry-based learning to connect knowledge with real-world applications.

The school accepts applications for its ELC (ages 3–5) and Primary School (grades 1–6) throughout the year, with specific schedules for new Grade 1 enrollment. The process involves a school visit or information session, payment of an application fee, submission of an online application, and a student observation combined with a parent interview. Transfer applicants must demonstrate academic ability and language proficiency in English and Japanese appropriate for their grade level. Upon acceptance, families must pay an enrollment fee, submit required documentation, and complete health checks.

The school operates on a term-based system with three terms per academic year: Term 1 (April–July), Term 2 (August–December), and Term 3 (January–March). Fees are paid in three installments corresponding to these terms.

Located in a lush, green environment, the school building is designed to resemble a castle. The campus includes classrooms for daily instruction and daycare, and it provides access to school bus services and school lunch options. The school also maintains a library with a wide selection of English and Japanese books and provides online English reading resources.

The school offers a variety of club activities and a summer school program. Additionally, students participate in field trips, including an international exchange trip for Grade 3, overnight field trips for Grades 4 and 5, and an overseas field trip for Grade 6.
