Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a bilingual Swedish school with an international profile, serving students from year F to 9. It combines the Swedish national curriculum with instruction in both Swedish and English to prepare students for success in a globalised world.

Teaching approach

The school is built on the conviction that every child can achieve success regardless of their background. It prioritises a safe and orderly environment as a prerequisite for learning, maintaining clear rules and routines. The ethos focuses on high academic expectations, the command of both Swedish and English, and the belief that teachers are the most significant factor in helping students reach their full potential.

Programmes

The school follows the Swedish national curriculum, with up to 50% of instruction delivered in English using the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach. In addition to core subjects, students study modern foreign languages such as Spanish, French, or German. The school is also a registered associate of Cambridge Assessment International Education, offering students the opportunity to take extra challenges like the Cambridge IGCSE.

Outcomes

The school monitors performance through national tests and internal quality assessments to ensure grading integrity and academic progress. Students are prepared for future studies and global environments through a bilingual education that aims to meet high academic expectations. Graduates are encouraged to pursue ambitious goals, with many continuing their education at international universities.
