iMater Academy High School

The school aims to provide a challenging curriculum that balances tradition and innovation to promote critical thinking and individual artistic expression. The academic programme includes a Pre-AP curriculum and dual enrollment opportunities. The core curriculum covers subjects such as language arts, reading, mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus), science (including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Marine Science), and social studies (including Civics, Economics, and AP Psychology). Elective offerings include health sciences, computer science, coding, digital design, and financial literacy.

The school provides a Title I after-school tutoring program at no cost to students. This support is specifically targeted toward students enrolled in intensive courses, those in the ESOL program, or students who received a D or F grade in the first quarter. Additionally, the school offers SAT prep classes for 12th-grade students.

The school serves students in grades 6 through 12. It conducts a controlled open enrollment process for both middle and high school admissions.

The school operates on a calendar that includes standardized testing periods, typically occurring between April and May. The academic year features scheduled report card distributions and various student-focused events, such as spirit weeks and class field trips.

The campus is located in Hialeah, Florida, and includes a library/media center and a cafeteria. The school provides students with access to iPads and laptops to support their learning. Additionally, the facility is equipped with modern hardware and software to facilitate curriculum integration.

Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, performances, and sports. Offerings include a T.V. production and photography program, a robotics club, dance, drama/theatre, and band. The school also hosts events such as a pig roasting competition and color war days.
