Programmes
The school offers a bilingual French immersion program from preschool through 12th grade. In elementary school, each class features two teachers—one native French speaker and one native English speaker—following the French cycle system. In middle school, students may follow an international program or a bilingual program combining the French national curriculum with English-taught courses. High school students choose between the International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme and the French Baccalaureate. The curriculum is further enriched by educational trips, including a 5th-grade immersion trip to France.

Graduates have access to two rigorous academic credentials: the International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme and the French Baccalaureate. Admissions
The school provides an admissions process for prospective families, including informational events and a need-based financial aid program. Facilities
About the campus
The school operates across four campuses in the Los Angeles area. The Burbank campus serves students in grades 6–12 and is located in the Rancho Equestrian district. Three elementary campuses serving preschool through 5th grade are located in Los Feliz, Pasadena, and West Valley (Tarzana). Facilities include classrooms, libraries, computer labs, and dedicated outdoor play and dining areas, with the Los Feliz campus spanning six acres.
Co-curriculars
Students participate in a wide range of activities, including approximately 40 student-led clubs, arts programs, and athletics. Student leadership opportunities include the Student Council (comprising the Associated Student Body and Conseil de la Vie Lycéenne), class delegates, a student DEI committee, and student ambassadors. Popular clubs include Model United Nations, debate, the LILA Gazette online newspaper, choir, rock and jazz bands, and the Green Team, alongside various special interest, academic, and service-oriented groups. The school also offers after-school activities and camps during school breaks and summer.



Dr. Conrad HughesHead of SchoolDr. Conrad Hughes is the Head of School at the International School of Los Angeles. He is an accomplished author of several books on education, including "Changing Assessment: How to Design Curriculum for Human Flourishing" (2025), and has contributed articles to organizations such as UNESCO and the World Economic Forum.
Anneli HarveyAssociate Head of School: Teaching and LearningAnneli Harvey serves as the Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning. She has an extensive background in education, including 13 years of teaching in London, and holds a Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She previously served as LILA’s interim Head of School in 2024 and 2025.
Mathieu MondangeBurbank Campus Director, Associate Head of School for French Affairs PS-12Mathieu Mondange is the Burbank Campus Director and Associate Head of School for French Affairs (PS-12). A graduate of the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, he has been with the school since 2008, serving in various teaching and leadership roles across multiple campuses.
François ZabkaPasadena Campus DirectorFrançois Zabka is the Pasadena Campus Director. He joined the school in 2013 as a French teacher and previously served as the Dean of Student and Campus Life, where he focused on emotional learning and restorative practices.
