Istanbul International Community School

IICS is a private, non-profit, secular, coeducational school that emphasizes an inquiry-based learning environment. The school focuses on fostering empathy, respect, and a sense of global citizenship by celebrating both local and global communities. It is committed to a learner-centered approach that honors each child's unique journey and prepares students for a changing world.

IICS is the only international school in Istanbul authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs: the Primary Years Programme (Early Years–Grade 6), the Middle Years Programme (Grades 7–10), and the Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12). The high school curriculum offers multiple graduation pathways, including a US-accredited High School Diploma, the IB Diploma, and the Impact & Innovation Diploma. The latter focuses on interdisciplinary learning, real-world impact projects, and future-ready skills such as robotics, design, and entrepreneurship.

Graduates have the opportunity to earn an IICS High School Diploma, an IICS High School Diploma combined with an IB Diploma, or an IICS High School Diploma combined with an Impact & Innovation Diploma. The school's high school program is accredited by CIS and NEASC, and its diploma is recognized globally and apostilled in the United States. Students are prepared for success in university and beyond through rigorous academic pathways and the development of real-world skills.

The school provides dedicated student support services, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) instruction and counseling. These services are integrated into the school's offerings to support the academic, social, and personal development of its diverse student body.

The admissions process is managed by the Director of Admissions, who assists families with inquiries, school tours, and relocation concerns. Prospective families are encouraged to contact the admissions office directly via email or phone to schedule a visit or a video call. The school provides an online application system and an admissions handbook to guide families through the enrollment process.

The school maintains a community calendar that provides the most recent information regarding events and schedules. Families are advised that these schedules are subject to change and that additional events may be added throughout the academic year. The school operates two campuses: the historic Hisar Campus and the purpose-built Marmara Campus. The Hisar Campus (Early Years–Grade 3) features a library, a 90m² PE and music room, a rubberized basketball court, a football pitch, and a climbing wall. The expansive 160,000m² Marmara Campus (Early Years–Grade 12) includes a large automated library, a double gymnasium, multiple sports salons, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, a 6,230m² soccer pitch, science labs, a design technology lab, a 320-seat theater, an outdoor amphitheater, and dedicated visual arts and music facilities.

IICS offers a variety of after-school activities and school-organized field trips as part of its student life program. As a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA), the school participates in intramural athletics, cultural events, and academic competitions that provide students with opportunities to travel and collaborate with peers from schools in 18 other countries.
