Jaffery High School

Jaffery Academy is built on a commitment to justice, core moral values, and faith, with a belief that every child has a meaningful role to play in society. The school aims to provide a holistic, innovative environment that nurtures the minds, bodies, and souls of students to prepare them as future pioneers. The school offers the Montessori system for early years (ages 2.5–5.5) and the Cambridge International curriculum from Primary through A-Levels. The Primary programme covers ten subjects, including English, mathematics, and science, while the High School section provides pathways through IGCSE (Years 10–11) and GCE (Years 12–13). A hands-on learning approach is utilized across all levels to aid in knowledge retention.

The school maintains a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) office. Admissions for students requiring learning support are handled on a case-by-case basis, and parents are advised to book an appointment with the SEN office to discuss specific requirements.

The school follows a three-step admission process involving the submission of an application form with academic records and identification, followed by academic and English language proficiency assessments. Age-based entry criteria apply, with Montessori students aged 2.5–5.5 years, Primary students aged 6–11, and High School students ranging from 12 to 18 years. International applicants must provide additional documentation, including student passes and residence permits.

The school organizes annual events including a sports day, a swimming gala, and an education expo. Educational field trips are conducted annually for all classes, ranging from farm visits for younger students to national park excursions for primary students.

The campus is located in Njiro, Arusha, and features classrooms equipped with televisions and whiteboards. Specialized facilities include an ICT lab and a science lab designed to support hands-on learning. The school also provides space for sports and swimming activities.

Students participate in a wide range of clubs, including Domestic Science, Public Speaking, Gardening, Band, Graphic Design, and various Art and Craft activities. The school emphasizes physical education and competitive sports, featuring four houses—Mandela, Nyerere, Kenyatta, and Gandhi—that compete in annual sports days and swimming galas. Additional activities include student council, debate, and community service visits.
