Mammolina Montessori International School

The school follows the Montessori method, viewing the child as the creator of themselves and the protagonist of their own development. The philosophy emphasizes the "prepared environment," the importance of emotional well-being, and the use of Positive Discipline based on firmness, kindness, and mutual respect. It promotes cosmic education, which teaches the interconnectedness of all living things and encourages students to become responsible, compassionate global citizens.

The school offers two main stages: Children’s House (ages 3–6) and Primary (ages 6–12). Children’s House focuses on the "absorbent mind" with areas including mathematics, sensorial, language, culture, and practical life, supported by English and French-speaking guides. The Primary stage focuses on reasoning and imagination through an autonomous, interdisciplinary curriculum that includes English, French, and 20% of the curriculum in Spanish and Valencian.

The school is authorized by the Conselleria de Educación of the GVA and is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The curriculum aims to foster independence, self-discipline, and a lifelong love of learning, preparing students for life rather than focusing on competitive academic results.

The school employs a dedicated school counselor who provides emotional support, pedagogical guidance, and classroom support. The staff includes professionals with training in special education, sensory processing disorders, dyslexia, and high abilities to ensure an inclusive approach to student development.

The admissions process begins with a guided tour with the director to observe the school in operation. Following the visit, families submit an application form, a questionnaire, and the child's most recent school report. The school evaluates the application based on the child's readiness, potential for positive interaction within the class, and the family's commitment to the Montessori program. Once admitted, enrollment is formalized through a signed school contract, payment of the enrollment fee, and a security deposit.

The school operates on a 10-month academic year. The daily schedule includes a three-hour uninterrupted Montessori work cycle each morning, followed by free choice and co-curricular activities in the afternoon. Optional extracurricular activities are available for older Children's House and Primary students starting at 16:00.

The campus is located in a quiet neighborhood in Paterna, north of Valencia, and features a 2,600m2 garden with trees, plants, and a vegetable patch. On-site sports facilities include a tennis and handball court. The school provides prepared indoor environments designed to scale for children, equipped with specific Montessori materials and work zones.

Afternoon activities include exercise, sports, music, and gardening. Optional extracurricular offerings for older students include chess, art, theater, and tennis. Additionally, the school provides cultural activities and holiday programs.
