Programmes

The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) for Reception to Year 6, focusing on transdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning. Lower secondary (Years 7-9) follows the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) framework, emphasizing conceptual, interdisciplinary study, STEM, and project-based learning. Upper secondary (Years 10-11) prepares students for CAIE IGCSE, JCQ GCSE, and ASDAN Level 2 qualifications, with a curriculum including subjects such as Spanish, Latin, Triple/Double Science, Astronomy, and Photography.

Outcomes

In 2024, 90% of GCSE/IGCSE results were grades 9-4, with 44% at grades 9-7, exceeding national averages. Graduates move on to a variety of sixth-form institutions, including Hills Road, The Leys, Long Road, and Cambridge Regional College, to pursue A-levels, the IB Diploma, or apprenticeships. The school emphasizes developing the whole learner to prepare them for their next steps.

Admissions

About the campus

Located at The Old Rectory in Fulbourn, Cambridge, the school provides a unique environment where primary and secondary students learn side-by-side. The campus includes facilities for science, art, and photography, and offers on-site car parking. Students are provided with a healthy, home-cooked three-course lunch as part of their tuition.

Co-curriculars

The school offers a range of clubs and activities including drama, art, coding, and music. Key Stage 4 students participate in annual team-building trips, which alternate between outdoor activities, such as high ropes courses at Go Ape or visits to Grafham Water, and cultural experiences, such as theatre trips to London. Kung Fu, Mandarin, and Forest School are included in the fees for students up to Year 6.

    Gareth has worked in education for over twenty years and has been the Headteacher of Landmark International School since 2019, introducing the International Baccalaureate to the school. He has extensive international experience, including roles in Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the UK, and previously served as an IB Chief Examiner.

    Bobby was born in Berlin and spent her childhood in Germany and Hungary before attending boarding school in England. She has a background in corporate finance and has worked as a town and parish clerk, bringing a friendly and practical approach to her role as Bursar.

  • Sue Hilton-TaylorHead of Secondary and Maths Teacher

    Sue grew up in South Africa and holds degrees in Physical Education, Maths, and Education from Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town. After teaching in Cambridge, she became the founding Maths Teacher at Landmark and now serves as Head of Secondary.

  • Carine BennettHead of Primary, DSL and Kingfisher (Reception - Year 1) Teacher

    Carine graduated from Homerton College, Cambridge, in 1997 with a focus on teaching and drama. She has taught in various state and independent schools and is currently the Head of Primary, a DSL, and a teacher for the Kingfisher class.

    Penny has lived and worked in several countries, including Australia and the UK, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. She serves as the IB Middle Years Programme Coordinator, Literacy Leader, DSL, and English Teacher at the school.

    Jenna began her international teaching career in 2009, with experience in Cambodia, Colombia, and Oman. She has implemented the International Primary Curriculum and currently serves as the IB Primary Years Programme Coordinator and a teacher for the Robin class.

    Georgie brings expertise as a SENDCo with Level 5 and Level 7 Specialist Teaching qualifications and certification as a Sensory Processing Practitioner. She has been with Landmark since its inception and is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment.
