Founded in 1961, Lauremont School is an independent school in Richmond Hill, Ontario, that provides a personalized educational experience for students from Toddler to Grade 12. It utilizes a dual-pedagogy approach, combining Montessori and International Baccalaureate frameworks to prepare students for a complex and changing world.

Teaching approach

Lauremont School is built upon four pillars: academics, athletics, arts, and citizenship. It combines Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) pedagogies to foster academic, social, and emotional growth. The Lower School follows the Montessori pedagogy, encompassing Toddler (18 months to 3 years), Children’s House (3 to 6 years), and Elementary (Grades 1 to 6) programs. The Upper School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, specifically the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 7 to 10 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11 and 12.

Outcomes

The school aims to equip graduates to thrive in a changing world and make meaningful differences in the lives of others.
