Curriculum
Teaching approach
The school's founding philosophy is "the development of global individuals who can contribute to humanity and the nation." Its school mission focuses on realizing the well-being of oneself, others, and society, while fostering the strength and flexibility to survive in a diversifying world. It emphasizes whole-person education, international understanding, and independent decision-making through academic inquiry and physical training.
Programmes
The school offers three main pathways: the Meikei General (MG) Class, the Academia (AC) Class, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Class. At the junior high level, the school is introducing the Cambridge International Class (IC) in 2027, which features the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and Cambridge IGCSE™ with subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities taught in English. High school students can pursue the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), and the school is also designated as a Super Science High School (SSH), integrating science experiments with humanities, arts, and sports science. Additionally, all students participate in a year-long "Independent Study" (個人課題研究) research project and thesis.
Outcomes
Students at the school develop critical thinking, expression, and research skills, culminating in the publication of academic papers, such as a high school student's discovery of a new parasitic wasp species published in a scientific journal. Graduates successfully transition to diverse global and domestic pathways, supported by the school's career education, university and research institution collaborations in Tsukuba, and the internationally recognized IB Diploma and Cambridge qualifications.
