It is the first school in Texas to offer the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, which it combines with Montessori and Reggio Emilia methodologies to provide a global, STEAM-focused education.
Curriculum
Teaching approach
The school integrates the Montessori method, which emphasizes self-directed learning and independence, with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which focuses on project-based learning, collaboration, and documentation. This approach is further enhanced by the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, creating a research-based framework that fosters inquiry, cognitive growth, and social-emotional development. The school views the environment as a teacher and respects each child's unique developmental journey.
Programmes
The academic offering spans from infancy through fifth grade, including Infant, Toddler, Pre-Primary, Primary, and Advanced Primary levels. The curriculum integrates core subjects—literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies—with STEAM, foreign language immersion, and arts. The school utilizes the Cambridge Early Years framework for children ages 3-6 and provides a rigorous, bilingual, and individually paced program for elementary students.
Outcomes
Graduates of Montessori Reggio Academy are prepared for success in advanced academic pathways, with some students gaining acceptance into leading college preparatory private schools. The curriculum aims to develop compassionate, creative, and confident individuals who possess critical thinking skills and a global outlook. Students are nurtured to become thoughtful, capable leaders ready to contribute positively to the world.
Student support
Learning support
The school emphasizes a holistic approach to education that supports diverse learning styles and individual developmental milestones. Teachers act as facilitators, providing guidance tailored to each child's pace, and the school participates in conferences focused on neurodiversity to expand expertise in inclusive education.
