Programmes

The school provides a comprehensive academic pathway from Pre-Prep (ages 4–7) through Prep (ages 7–11) to Senior School (ages 11–16) and Sixth Form (ages 16–18). The curriculum is supported by a 1:1 tablet programme, with lessons delivered via Microsoft OneNote and Teams. Senior pupils follow a curriculum that includes GCSEs, while the Sixth Form offers A-Level pathways, including a One Year A-Level Fast Track Programme and NCUK qualifications. Outdoor and Adventure Education is integrated across all stages, ranging from outdoor learning in the Prep School to a Level 3 Diploma in Adventure Studies for older pupils.

Admissions

The school manages admissions for day and boarding pupils aged 4–18. A non-refundable registration fee of £300 is required for all applicants, with an additional £150 application fee for international pupils. Financial support is available through merit-based scholarships and means-tested bursaries, with specific discounts offered for siblings, members of the Armed Forces, the Diplomatic Corps, and alumni of the former Howell’s School.

About the campus

Located on a 37½-acre estate at the foot of the 13th-century Denbigh Castle, the campus blends historic architecture with modern facilities. Sports amenities include a full-size football pitch, a rugby pitch, four tennis courts, a large indoor sports hall, a gym, and a dance studio. The school also features an indoor climbing wall and a dedicated equestrian facility, which includes two 20-by-40-metre all-weather arenas, a ten-acre field, and access to local bridle paths.
