Founded in 1987, the American International School in Cyprus is a private, accredited, coeducational, college preparatory school. It is the only school in Cyprus offering an American system program, with the option of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in the final two years of secondary school.

Programmes

The school is divided into Elementary (KG3–Grade 5), Middle School (Grades 6–8), and High School (Grades 9–12). Core subjects include English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, supplemented by Art, Music, Drama, Information Technology, Physical Education, and modern languages including French, Spanish, and Greek.

AISC is a college preparatory school with a track record of graduates attending leading universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and around the world. The school’s accreditation by the Middle States Association (MSA) and the Council of International Schools (CIS) ensures that student academic work is accepted by international universities. About the campus

Located on a four-acre (10,000 square meter) urban campus in Nicosia, the school features a main building with three floors, a K-12 library with 14,000 volumes, three science labs, a computer lab, and a robotics classroom. Sports facilities include a swimming pool, two tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, a netted futsal pitch, and a covered physical education area. The campus also includes a theatre, two art studios, two music rooms, a full-service cafeteria, and secure, enclosed outdoor play areas.

Co-curriculars

AISC offers a wide variety of school-sponsored extracurricular activities after school hours, with most students participating in at least one. These activities range from athletics and arts to academic clubs, and are complemented by service learning projects and field trips, both locally and abroad. Partnerships include the Hope for Children Anti-Bullying Program and the Stockholm International Junior Water Project competition.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Geography from York University, a BEd from the University of Toronto, and an MSc in Education (Administration and Supervision) from Niagara University.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in Elementary Education, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She is a certified trainer in Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction and has served on multiple accreditation teams for the MSA and CIS.
