Founded in 1920, the school operates as a non-profit association under the motto 'Friendship and Service'. It promotes an international-minded approach, encouraging students to discover their talents and become committed global citizens. The educational philosophy emphasizes an integral perspective that addresses the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development of each student.

The school offers an educational programme based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The curriculum is bilingual in English and Spanish, with a focus on inquiry-based learning, design and technology, and AI. The school provides specialized Spanish immersion for students without prior instruction in the language and facilitates international exchange programmes.

The school prepares students for university and beyond, focusing on academic success alongside the development of values, social conscience, and interpersonal skills. Graduates have achieved high performance in the International Baccalaureate Diploma, with students earning over 40 points. The academic year begins in mid-February and concludes in mid-December for Kindergarten and Primary, while Secondary concludes in late November. The calendar includes a three-week winter break in July and a one-week spring break in September. Secondary examinations are completed before the Christmas holidays.

Northlands operates two campuses located in Olivos and Nordelta, Buenos Aires. The school is actively engaged in re-imagining learning spaces and has facilities dedicated to design and technology, including resources for robotics, coding, and 3D design. Physical education is supported by sports facilities that host competitive events.
