Open Gate focuses on the all-round development of the individual, respecting personal learning styles and paces. Inspired by the IB Learner Profile, the school encourages students to be inquirers, thinkers, and risk-takers who are socially responsible and globally aware. It views students as partners in the educational process, emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to find original solutions to complex problems.

The school offers an eight-year grammar school programme and primary education, with the latter partially based on the Primary Years Programme. The curriculum is taught in both Czech and English, integrating modern technology and cross-disciplinary learning. Students are prepared for both the Czech school-leaving examination and the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations.

The school aims for students to mature into self-confident, responsible, and considerate individuals who are aware of their strengths and weaknesses and are prepared for a global society.

The school provides comprehensive counselling services, including access to psychologists, coaches, and therapists for students and the wider community. Special needs teachers and behavioural counsellors are available to support individual student development. The school emphasizes a personalised approach, with small class sizes—maximum 20 students—and further division into smaller groups for specific subjects.

The admissions process for the eight-year grammar school consists of three components: state Czech language tests (30%), state mathematics tests (30%), and a spoken interview (40%). Applications are typically submitted by February for the following academic year, and the school also considers transfer applications for higher grades based on student motivation and academic potential. The school hosts open days twice a year and offers individual tours upon request.

The school year typically begins in early September and concludes in late June. The calendar includes standard breaks such as autumn, Christmas, spring, and Easter holidays, as well as designated parental meeting dates and graduation events. The school also observes various state holidays throughout the academic year.

Located in Babice near Prague, the campus features two sports halls, outdoor playing fields, an indoor four-lane swimming pool, and a fitness centre. Academic and creative facilities include a library with tens of thousands of books, a theatre, a recording studio, and various specialized workshops for ceramics, textiles, carpentry, and fine arts. The campus also houses a farm with horses and other animals, a student-run café, and a cafeteria that provides fresh, locally sourced meals.

The school provides dozens of athletic, cultural, and linguistic clubs and academic societies. Students have access to diverse activities including a recording studio, ceramics and textile workshops, a carpentry workshop, a fine arts studio, and a training kitchen. Additionally, the school facilitates community-based projects, such as singing for senior citizens or reading in nursery schools, and participates in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme.
