PORG International School - Ostrava

The school’s ethos is rooted in a child-centred approach that aims to know, value, and challenge every learner to grow in confidence, creativity, and character. The curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, covering core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside foundation subjects including Art and Design, Computing, Crafts and Technology, Languages, Music, and Social Studies. The programme focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and computing skills through inquiry-based learning.

The school employs a dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) teacher to provide necessary support for learners. Pastoral care is integrated into the daily school life to ensure a secure and supportive environment for all students.

The academic year is divided into two terms: the first runs from 1 September to 31 January, and the second from 1 February to 30 June. The calendar includes scheduled holidays for autumn, winter, spring, and Easter, as well as designated parent-teacher meeting periods and social events such as the graduation and summer party.

Located in the Vítkovice district of Ostrava, the campus is shared with PORG Ostrava and comprises four buildings, a large sports field, and two modern children’s playgrounds. Facilities include two libraries, high-standard science and chemistry laboratories, computing and multimedia labs, a sports hall, an assembly hall, an Art Gallery, and a canteen.

The school offers a wide range of after-school clubs and extracurricular activities designed to enrich the student experience. These activities are organized into three daily time slots, providing opportunities for students to engage in diverse interests beyond the classroom.
