PISOTA serves 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students using the Cambridge International Curriculum for core subjects. These programs are designed to build creativity, discipline, and collaboration while enriching students' understanding of traditional academic subjects.

PISOTA welcomes students with disabilities and multilingual learners, prioritizing mental health and holistic wellness as part of its safety and support protocols. Communication regarding student progress and schedules is facilitated through platforms like Synergy and ParentVue/StudentVue.

PISOTA is a tuition-free public charter school open to all middle school students, with no entrance exams or academic achievement requirements. Enrollment for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades is managed through an Open Enrollment period, followed by a lottery if the number of applicants exceeds available seats. Applications submitted after the Open Enrollment period are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and added to a waitlist if necessary.

The school operates Monday through Friday from 7:50 AM to 2:20 PM. The academic year follows a schedule coordinated with Charles County Public Schools.

The campus is located at 95 Catalpa Dr., La Plata, MD, and features a double-door entrance vestibule with key card access. Security measures include CCTV monitoring around the building's perimeter, and students have access to lockers. The school provides breakfast and lunch services in partnership with the local school district.

The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including the National Junior Honors Society, Student Government Association, and a Rising Journalist Club. Students may also participate in the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Club, a Yearbook Club, the Phoenix Elite Drill Team, and various sports teams such as boys' basketball, girls' volleyball, and track and field, contingent upon student interest and volunteer coaching.
