Accreditations

Preshil is an independent, co-educational school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 that provides a student-led, progressive education. It focuses on cultivating original thinkers and confident individuals through a culture of trust and mutual respect.

Teaching approach

Founded in 1931, the school is built on the belief that education should grow the individual rather than mould them. It rejects one-size-fits-all learning in favour of a student-led approach that balances trust, rigour, and creativity. The school's educational principles guide all aspects of curriculum design, relationships, and behaviour, fostering a community where difference is expected and individuality is supported.

Programmes

The school offers a Kindergarten program for 3-4 year olds, followed by primary education (Prep to Year 6) and secondary schooling (Years 7-12). Secondary pathways include the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the VCE Vocational Major (VM), and Vocational Education and Training (VET). Middle School (Years 7-8) focuses on identity and agency, while the senior years provide flexible pathways to prepare students for university and creative industries.
