Rossall School aims to inspire a lifelong love of learning within a pastorally nurturing, culturally exciting, and intellectually creative community. The school offers a structured academic path from the Nursery (ages 3 months+) through Pre-Prep, Prep, Senior School, and Sixth Form. The Sixth Form curriculum includes A-Levels, BTECs, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP), and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Specialized pathways include the Elite Football Programme, Golf Academy, International Piano Academy, and the Rossall Dance Academy.

Rossall School students achieve success in national competitions and progress to a variety of university destinations, both in the UK and overseas. The school’s Elite Football Programme has led to professional football contracts and 100% scholarships to universities in the United States. The school is also an All-Steinway School, reflecting its commitment to musical excellence.

The school provides learning development support, with options for 2, 4, 6, or more lessons per fortnight. A dedicated team of staff, including a Head of Learning Development and various teaching assistants, supports students across the Senior and Preparatory schools.

Rossall School welcomes applications for day and boarding places from both UK and international students. The school hosts open days and private tours for prospective families to experience the 160-acre campus. The school operates on a three-term academic year: Michaelmas, Lent, and Summer. Terms typically begin in September, January, and April, with half-term breaks in October, February, and May/June. Boarders return on specific dates before the start of each term, and the academic year concludes in early July.

The 160-acre campus includes a variety of sports facilities, such as a 25-metre, six-lane indoor heated swimming pool, a 4-lane 50m sprint track, and the McKee Sports Hall for indoor sports like basketball, badminton, and futsal. Outdoor facilities feature floodlit all-weather pitches for hockey and tennis, multiple rugby and football pitches, and squash and fives courts. The school also houses a modern, fully-stocked demonstration kitchen, the Big School Hall with a 350-seat capacity, Mondo’s Café, and the Lawrence House Astronomy and Space Science Centre.

The school offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, including the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and a careers programme. Students can participate in performing arts, including dance and drama, as well as specialized academies such as the Elite Football Programme (in partnership with Manchester City F.C.), a Golf Academy, and an International Piano Academy. Additionally, the school features an Astronomy and Space Science Centre and a Medstream programme for aspiring medical students.
