SEK International School

The school follows the SEK Future Learning Model, which is based on the 'Intelligent Classroom' approach to develop intelligence and instill values. It emphasizes inquiry, conceptual understanding, and the development of critical thinking and entrepreneurship. The educational community values diversity, global citizenship, and social innovation, aiming to foster students' intellectual, emotional, and personal development.

The school is authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). The curriculum is delivered in English, with additional language offerings including French, Spanish, German, and Irish. The school also provides immersion programmes for international students for durations ranging from one term to a full academic year.

The school maintains a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio to provide personalised attention. For international students, the school offers preparation for Cambridge language exams, as well as support for French DELF, Spanish Cervantes Institute, and German Goethe Institute exams. All international students are required to have a guardian during their time at the school.

The admissions process is designed to understand the individual needs of each student and their family. Prospective families must request information, arrange a visit or interview, and complete the enrolment process via the MYSEK platform. Required documentation includes identity documents for parents and students, as well as previous academic reports. An online interview is available for students unable to visit the school in person.

The 2025-2026 academic year begins on 6 September 2025 for non-resident students and 8 September 2025 for resident students. The school year concludes on 23 June 2026. Breaks include a Christmas holiday from 22 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 and an Easter break from 27 March to 6 April 2026.

Located on a 250,000 m² campus in Greystones, the school features a blend of traditional and modern architecture. Facilities include classrooms with digital whiteboards, a library with over 3,760 titles, laboratories, technology and robotics multimedia classrooms, a music room, a visual arts studio, and a drama classroom. Sports facilities comprise tennis and basketball courts, green zones, and grass pitches for football and rugby.

The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including football, golf, horse-riding, and piano. Students may participate in initiatives such as F1 in Schools, a global STEM challenge, and benefit from a collaboration with the Fundación Real Madrid for sports and values-based programming. The school also provides opportunities for community service and artistic expression.
