Teaching approach

Shrewsbury promotes a 'whole person' education that balances academic rigour with personal development. The school's ethos, described as 'Serious Fun,' encourages pupils to be intellectually curious, creative, and socially responsible. The 'Floreat' model focuses on four reinforcing fields: Intellective, Active, Expressive, and Reflective, aiming to empower each individual to flourish and contribute positively to the world.

Programmes

The academic curriculum is broad and balanced, beginning with the 'Origin' programme for Third Form (13-year-olds), which provides formative experience across 18 subjects. As pupils progress, they select subjects that align with their passions and future ambitions. The school integrates 21st-century digital tools into the classroom while maintaining a focus on research, creativity, and debate.

Outcomes

Pupils are prepared for success in public examinations and higher education. The majority of graduates progress to Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, with increasing numbers pursuing international university placements and prestigious degree apprenticeship programmes.
