Signature School

The school’s mission is to meet the needs of self-motivated learners in a progressive environment driven by global concerns. It emphasizes academic rigor, excellence in the arts, integrated technologies, and a commitment to community service. Students pledge to do their best, acknowledging that the educational opportunities provided are designed to meet the needs of motivated individuals.

The curriculum is centered on college readiness, offering pathways that lead to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and the AP Capstone Diploma. Students also work toward the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma and the Indiana Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency. The academic program includes a wide range of subjects, such as English literature, history, psychology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and various world languages including French, German, and Spanish.

Signature School is a nationally ranked institution, recognized by US News & World Report and the Jay Mathews Challenge Index. Graduates consistently matriculate to four-year universities, and the school maintains a high rate of Academic Honors Diplomas. The Class of 2025 was awarded $29 million in scholarships, and students frequently earn the Indiana Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency.

The school provides academic advising to support students throughout their high school career. Additionally, a Youth First counselor is available to provide support services to the student body.

Signature School is an open-admission, tuition-free charter school serving students who reside in Indiana. The admissions process is open to current 8th graders and transfer students.

The school operates on a block schedule. The academic year is supported by a downloadable calendar that outlines key events and no-school days, and the school maintains specific summer hours and bookstore operations for students.

The school is located in downtown Evansville at 610 Main Street. Additional facilities include the Koch Center, located at 527 Main Street, which houses board meetings and other school functions.

Students participate in a variety of clubs and organizations, as well as athletics and fine arts programs. Community service is a core component of the student experience, with students contributing thousands of hours annually. Fine arts offerings include instrumental music, musical theatre, visual arts, and a piano lab.
