Skipper Clement School International Department

The school emphasizes values such as respect, responsibility, creativity, high achievement, commitment, and consequences. Its mission is to support the development of students as global citizens while facilitating the integration of families into Danish society.

The International Department follows the Cambridge curriculum, with Stages 1-6 covering all subjects and Stages 7-9 focusing on English, Mathematics, and Science. In Stages 10-11, the school offers nine IGCSE subjects, including English as a Second Language and International Mathematics. Progress is monitored through Cambridge Progression tests and internal assessments.

The school has been a Cambridge International Examinations Centre since 2002, with students taking Checkpoint and IGCSE exams. Students may also earn the International Certificate of Education (ICE) and have the option to take Danish FP9 and FP10 exams at the end of Stages 10 and 11.

The school provides learning support services to assist students. The admissions process includes an assessment to determine if the school can meet a child's specific needs, noting that the school does not have a nurse on-site daily for the administration of medication.

The admissions process begins with an application form to join the school's waiting list. Prospective families may be invited to an information evening, an interview with a department head, or asked to provide further information to ensure the school can meet the child's needs. Students applying for Stages 10 and 11 may be required to complete an entry test before an offer of a place is made.

The school year typically runs from August to June, with formal progress reports issued in December and June. Oral reports are generally conducted in October and March. Internal tests are held in December and June for students in years 7 to 11.

Located in the center of Aalborg, the school is situated in a green area between Kildeparken and the Rustenborg playing field. The campus provides access to various sports facilities and is within walking distance of the city's central bus and train stations. All international classes are located at the main school site on Gammel Kærvej.

The school offers after-school activities through its SFO (for younger students) and Klub (for students in stages 5-7) services. Additionally, the school organizes various school trips, with costs divided across the annual school fees, including excursions within Denmark and Europe for specific stages.
