The school operates a competitive online admission system (SPMB) for students graduating from junior high school. The process includes administrative screening, regional selection (academic tests in Mathematics, IPA, and English, plus a speaking test), and a central selection process at the campus in Boyolali involving further testing, interviews, and psychological evaluations. Applicants must meet specific criteria, including a minimum IQ of 115 and a minimum average score of 90 in Mathematics, IPA, and English across semesters I-V for national curriculum students. Various entry pathways are available, including Regular, B2P (financial aid), and Scholarship tracks for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, 3T regions, or those with high academic achievements.

The admission cycle typically begins with online registration in December and concludes with final announcements in late April or early May. The central selection process (Selpus) at the Boyolali campus is conducted in two waves, usually occurring in April, and spans five days of intensive testing. The academic year includes major milestones such as graduation ceremonies and national holiday observances.

Located in Boyolali, the campus is a boarding school equipped with modern facilities to support learning and student life. These include a library, language, computer, and science laboratories, as well as sports facilities such as a basketball court. The campus also provides recreational amenities like billiard tables and gaming consoles (PS5) for students.
