Steyn City School is built on the philosophy that 'happy children learn,' combining traditional values with a progressive, modern ethos. Students in Grade 12 sit for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) exit examination. These qualifications provide graduates with access to universities both within South Africa and abroad. The process requires the completion of an application form and payment of a R450 application fee, which places the student on a waiting list. The school also offers private tours for families interested in learning more before applying. Admission is offered at the sole discretion of the school, and a once-off enrolment fee of R12,000 is payable upon acceptance.

The school operates on a three-term calendar. In 2026, the first term runs from 14 January to 2 April, the second term from 4 May to 7 August, and the third term from 7 September to 4 December. Each term includes a scheduled half-term break.

The campus features state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories, a fully equipped Mitchell Theatre, and the Steyn City Aquatic Centre. Sporting infrastructure includes an Astro Turf, The Oval, multipurpose courts, and The Pavilion. The school also provides specialized learning spaces such as The Hive, The Hub, The Shed, and a canteen, all set within an environment designed with open, light-filled architecture.
