Stonar provides an inclusive education with a whole-school approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Admissions

Stonar is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2–18. Main entry points are Nursery (ages 2–3), Reception (age 4), Year 7 (age 11), Year 9 (age 13), and Lower Sixth (age 16), though applications for other year groups are considered subject to availability. The admissions process includes a Taster Day for Prep applicants and a selective Assessment Day for Years 7 and 9. Entry into the Lower Sixth requires at least six GCSEs at grade 5 or above, with specific subject requirements.

Calendar

The school operates on a three-term academic year (Autumn, Spring, and Summer). Terms typically begin in early September, early January, and mid-April, with half-term breaks in October, February, and May/June. The academic year concludes in early July.

About the campus

The school is set on a 90-acre rural campus in Wiltshire. Facilities include an all-weather Astroturf pitch, a large sports hall, an indoor heated swimming pool, grass pitches, and tennis/netball courts. The campus also features a theatre hall with racked seating, an adjoining music school, and a world-class, British Horse Society-approved equestrian centre with indoor and outdoor arenas, cross-country courses, and stabling for up to 74 horses. Residential accommodation is provided in three boarding houses: Hart House, Ganbrook House, and York House.

Co-curriculars

Pupils are expected to participate in a wide range of activities, including sport, drama, public speaking, music, art, photography, languages, and outdoor expeditions. The school offers specific programmes such as Adventure Training, a Flying Club, and a Rugby Excellence Programme. Additionally, there are numerous 'Stonar Clubs' and opportunities for creative and performing arts.
