Sunlake Academy of Math and Science

The school provides a regional mental health counselor to support student well-being. It also maintains a structured approach to student conduct, requiring adherence to both school-specific policies and the Hillsborough County Student Code of Conduct.

Sunlake Academy of Math and Science is a tuition-free public charter school serving students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Enrollment is conducted annually, and if the number of applicants exceeds available vacancies, a lottery system is used to determine admission. Preference is given to siblings of current students, children of employees or governing board members, and children of active-duty military families.

The school operates on a standard academic calendar, with the 2026-2027 school year beginning in August. Daily hours are 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for grades K-2, and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM for grades 3-8. The school office is open from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Located in Lutz, Florida, the campus includes specialized learning spaces such as a Makerspace for hands-on inquiry and construction. The school also utilizes various off-campus locations for athletic competitions and field studies, including local sports complexes and recreational centers.

The school offers a variety of athletic teams organized by quarter, including cross country, boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball, boys and girls basketball, golf, boys and girls flag football, and ball hockey. Additionally, the school features a "Makerspace" program, which serves as a constructivist and constructionist environment for student-centered inquiry, utilizing modern technology and materials for invention.
