Socrates Educa International School- Salou

The school operates under the Sòcrates Educa® methodology, which focuses on preparing students for a global, ever-changing society through a collaborative, sustainable, and inclusive approach. The pedagogical model emphasizes the joy of learning, creativity, and the development of autonomous, responsible, and self-critical citizens. The school offers a comprehensive educational pathway from P1 through to Baccalaureate, including the local BAT diploma and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The curriculum is delivered in English, Spanish, and Catalan, with Chinese taught as a fourth language. The academic programme integrates technology, coding, and robotics, and is supported by a team of international teachers.

The school provides a dedicated Special Needs support service (ADEPP) managed by a team of specialists. It offers a welcome classroom and intensive refresher courses for new or foreign students to assist with adaptation and integration. Additional support is provided through specific programmes like Glifing for reading and writing.

The school is inclusive and does not require a specific entrance test at any age, though it may assess a student's level in different areas. The admission process includes an evaluation of the student's knowledge of English, Catalan, Spanish, and Chinese to determine if an adaptation plan or support is necessary. Families are expected to align with the school's values and educational model, and students from P1 to 4th year of ESO are required to wear a school uniform.

The academic year runs from September to June, divided into three terms, with classes held Monday through Friday. The school day typically runs from 08:30 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 16:30, with additional reception services available from 07:30 to 08:30 and 16:30 to 17:30. The calendar includes standard holiday periods for Christmas and Easter, as well as public and local holidays.

Located on 30,000 m2 of grounds, the campus features over 8,000 m2 of facilities designed by architect Josep Benedito. These include classrooms, a library, study rooms, a gym, a versatile function room (the Forum), workshops, and laboratories for music, robotics, technology, biology, physics, and chemistry. The site also provides indoor and outdoor sports areas, gardens, and vegetable patches, with sustainable features such as rainwater collection and smart climate control.

Extracurricular activities are offered on a voluntary basis and take place daily between 16:30 and 19:00. Options include music, choir, chess, and various sports, including swimming. The school also organizes international projects and seasonal programmes during the summer, winter, and spring.
