TED Ankara College Foundation High School

Founded in 1931 under the direction of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the school operates on the principles of the Republic and Atatürk’s ideals. It aims to cultivate "free-thinking, free-understanding, and free-conscience" generations who are guided by reason and science. The core mission is to raise well-rounded, intellectual, and globally-minded citizens who are sensitive to both national and world issues.

The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates the national education programme with international standards. It is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and offers the two-year IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) for students aged 16–19. The academic structure spans kindergarten, primary school, middle school, and high school, with a focus on developing critical thinking, inquiry, and global citizenship.

Graduates are prepared as 21st-century citizens who are intellectually curious, socially responsible, and respectful of both national and universal values. IB Diploma Programme graduates may benefit from horizontal transfer opportunities and scholarships ranging from 25% to 75% at private universities in Turkey, depending on their diploma scores. The school takes pride in its thousands of alumni who have influenced Turkey's socio-cultural, political, economic, and sporting history.

The school maintains a Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PDR) department to support student development. Additionally, the school provides health units for each school level (kindergarten, primary, middle, and high school) to ensure student well-being.

Admission to the school is managed through specific procedures for each level. The kindergarten (A1 group) accepts students based on age and capacity, with a two-year programme that leads directly to the school's primary school. Primary school 1st-grade entry is reserved for internal kindergarten students, while entry into other grades and the middle school is subject to availability and announced via the school's website and social media. High school admissions for the 9th grade are announced publicly, while transfers into the 9th and 10th grades require a minimum of three years of continuous study at TED Ankara College or four years at other TED schools. Applicants for high school must pass English and Turkish proficiency exams.

The 2025-2026 academic year begins on September 8, 2025, and concludes on June 26, 2026. The calendar includes a first-term break from November 10-14, 2025, and a second-term break from March 16-20, 2026. The schedule also incorporates national holidays, such as Republic Day, Atatürk Commemoration Week, and various national sovereignty and youth festivals, alongside designated periods for responsibility exams and academic support courses.

Located in the İncek campus, the school occupies a 309,000-square-meter site with 142,000 square meters of enclosed space. The campus features contemporary educational facilities, including science laboratories, high-tech classrooms, 3D classrooms, and a planetarium. The grounds also house sports and arts facilities, a library, and the Ata Sahne performance venue.

The school supports a wide range of activities to foster students' talents beyond academics, including painting, sculpture, dance, music, choir, and theatre. Students are encouraged to engage with science, technology, culture, art, and sports to develop as well-rounded individuals. The school also maintains a sports club, the TED Ankara Kolejliler Sports Club, and publishes a sports newspaper.
