The Beacon School

Guided by the motto Veritas et Lumen (Truth and Light), the school fosters a community of lifelong learners and agents of change. The educational approach integrates a rigorous, balanced global education with a deep appreciation for Filipino culture, emphasizing honesty, integrity, tolerance, and critical, imaginative thought.

The school is authorized by the International Baccalaureate to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Pre-K to Grade 5 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 6 to 9. The curriculum is also recognized and validated by the Philippine Department of Education.

Beacon students consistently outperform other participating schools in global assessments such as the International Schools Assessment (ISA). Graduates are encouraged to become independent thinkers, confident communicators, and engaged citizens committed to service.

The school maintains a philosophy of inclusion, providing services for students whose needs can be met by a team of reading and learning support specialists. Limits are placed on the number of English Language learners and students with diverse needs within any one section to ensure appropriate support.

The Beacon School admits students from Pre-K to Grade 9 on a rolling basis, subject to space availability. The process includes an introductory tour, submission of application documents, a sit-in visit, academic testing for Grades 4-8, and interviews. Admission is based on guidelines ensuring a good fit for the student, with limited class sizes and support available for diverse learning needs.

The academic year typically begins in August and concludes in June, organized into three terms. The calendar includes scheduled breaks for Christmas and Holy Week, as well as various national holidays and professional development days for faculty.

The school is located on a 12,500 sq m property in Makati City. Facilities include classrooms for Pre-K to Grade 8, a playground, a soccer field, a gymnasium, and an urban garden. A high school building is planned for 2025.

Students participate in After School Activities (ASA) and competitive sports, such as volleyball, which foster teamwork, discipline, and time management. The school also organizes service-learning opportunities, including the Grade 8 Community Project and partnerships with local schools and organizations.
