Admissions

Calendar

About the campus
In January 2023, the school moved into a purpose-built facility located on Linden Avenue in Charlottesville. The campus features classrooms with an abundance of natural light and a large outdoor space. The school utilizes these facilities to support its hands-on, sensory-based approach to learning.
Co-curriculars
The school offers enrichment programs that include cooking, gardening, and yoga. Additionally, students participate in performing arts and visual arts instruction. These activities are designed to complement the core academic curriculum and support the development of the whole child.






Tini BennettHead of SchoolTini is a 20-year veteran in international education who previously served as Head of School at the Dar es Salaam International Academy in Tanzania. She co-founded and managed the construction of the Starehe Nursery School in Mwanza, Tanzania, and has extensive experience in school administration, curriculum development, and staff recruitment.
Sybil HassonAssistant Head of School/3rd & 4th French TeacherSybil was born and raised in France and holds a Master's Degree in sociology from the University of Paris. She joined the ISC in 2003 and is recognized as a master designer of interdisciplinary, child-guided project-based learning experiences.
Adriana Collazos-GilDirector of Administration and OperationsAdriana has a degree in textile design from Colombia and a second degree in Languages and French Civilization from Switzerland. She has over 15 years of experience as a Logistics Director for international organizations and has been with the ISC since 2016.
Danielle SchaeberDirector of Admissions and DevelopmentDanielle holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and previously lived in Switzerland for three years. She has been with the ISC for several years, supporting the school through a period of significant growth.
Christie McKee3rd & 4th Grade Teacher and Curriculum CoordinatorChristie is in her second year at the ISC and brings a wealth of educational leadership experience from both the public and private sectors. Her primary focus is on curriculum development and coaching.
Alejandra NewellStudent Support Specialist/3rd & 4th Spanish TeacherAlejandra was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Special Education. She joined the ISC teaching faculty in 2007 and has worked extensively with children and adults with disabilities.
