The school provides a continuous educational journey from Nursery and Pre-Prep through to the Sixth Form. The academic curriculum includes a broad range of subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Classics, Computing, Design and Technology, Drama, Geography, History, and Religious Studies. In the Sixth Form, students can pursue A-levels, BTECs, CTEC qualifications, and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Specialized pathways include choral education for boy and girl choristers and international programmes.

King’s Ely achieved the highest possible grading in every category during its 2025 Independent Schools Inspectorate inspection, meeting or exceeding all regulatory standards. Students benefit from career education, mock university interviews, and work experience placements, with many progressing to higher education. The school also celebrates student achievements in national competitions, such as the IAPS National Finals and the National Reading Champions Quiz.

Learning support is provided through a dedicated coordinator who ensures pupils' needs are met via high-quality, differentiated classroom teaching. King’s Ely welcomes applications for all year groups, subject to availability and assessment outcomes. Popular entry points include Nursery, Reception, Years 3, 7, 9, and the Sixth Form. The school provides a supportive admissions process, offering personalised tours and hosting open events throughout the year for prospective families.

The academic year is divided into three terms: Michaelmas, Lent, and Summer. The school calendar includes scheduled exeat weekends and mid-term holidays, with specific boarding house opening and closing times provided for each term. Boarding houses remain open during certain exeat weekends for an additional fee, with on-site catering available.

The campus features historic buildings and extensive sports facilities, including a sports hall, an astro pitch, and a swimming pool. The school also maintains specialized spaces for arts, music, and drama, alongside a medical centre and boarding houses. Facilities are available for hire by local sports teams and for events outside of the school programme.
