The Lacon Childe School

Lacon Childe School fosters a community-focused environment where staff and students collaborate to create a stimulating and happy learning space. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum for students aged 11-16, covering subjects including Art, Computing, Careers, Child Development, Drama, Design and Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, PE, PSHE, Religious Studies, and Science. The academic programme is designed to challenge students and prepare them for their chosen post-16 pathways.

Students consistently achieve strong GCSE results, with recent cohorts securing high grades including 9s and 8s. Upon completing their education at age 16, the majority of students transition to sixth form colleges, while others pursue apprenticeships or enter employment.

The school maintains a dedicated focus on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to support student progress. Additionally, the school prioritises mental health and wellbeing, providing resources and early help for students.
