The Roman Ridge School

The school is founded on six pillars: Responsibility, Discipline, Excellence, Morality, Integrity, and Leadership, all centered on a solid foundation of Christian values. It aims to nurture individual talents and character, encouraging pupils to become confident, respectful, and responsible individuals who are prepared to make a significant impact in the world.

The academic programme follows the English National Curriculum, the UK Primary and Secondary National Curriculum, and the Cambridge Assessment International Education for IGCSE and A-Levels. Core subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, French, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Computing, Music, Art, Drama, and Physical Education. The school is divided into Junior, Middle, and Senior sections, with students sitting for standardized assessments at key stages throughout their education.

Students consistently achieve success in standardized examinations, including UK Key Stage 1, Common Entrance 11+ and 13+, IGCSE, and A-Level qualifications. Graduates have been selected for prestigious programmes such as the Yale Young Scholars and have received accolades including the Harvard Book Prize and the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award.

The school provides diagnostic testing to identify individual pupil strengths and weaknesses, allowing teachers to provide targeted attention and support. Prospective parents must book an appointment with the front office to discuss the school's offerings before completing an application form. The school maintains a cut-off date of August 31st for age-based enrolment.

The school operates on a termly basis, with specific calendars available for the Easter and Christmas terms. The school day is supervised from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The campus features specialized learning spaces including chemistry, computing, and multimedia laboratories, as well as a junior library and a senior study room. Recreational and support facilities include a playground and on-site clinics.

The school offers a wide range of activities on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, including football, basketball, volleyball, dance, coding and robotics, chess, music and choir, drama, Model UN, and debate. It is a member of the International Schools Sports Association of Ghana (ISSAG) and participates in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition. Additionally, the school organizes a four-week French immersion programme in France each summer.
