Tromsø International School is an authorized IB World School and the northernmost school in the world to offer the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes.

Programmes
The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 6–12 (grades 1–6) and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 13–16 (grades 7–10). The PYP utilizes an integrated, cross-curricular approach, while the MYP provides an academic framework across eight subject groups, culminating in a personal project in the final year. English is the main language of instruction, with all students also learning Norwegian.

Admissions
Applications received before December 1st of the year prior to entry are managed in a first intake, with priority given to children of staff and board members, siblings of current students, and non-Norwegian nationals residing outside of Norway. After October 1st, the school accepts children of international families moving to Tromsø, provided space is available. The school maintains a scholarship arrangement for low-income families, which must be applied for annually.
